Sen Zam’s committed to development of Zone B – Aide

Within the last few months, Senator Titus Tartenger Zam, has made significant inroads in improving the fortunes of Benue North West Senatorial District (Zone B), one of Senator Zam’s top aides, Mr. Terungwa Nunde says in a statement obtained by TNT.

Senator Zam, Benue North West (APC), was elected to the Senate of the National Assembly (of Nigeria) in 2023 and is Senate Committee Chairman on Rules and Business.

Mr. Nunde says Sen Zam’s achievements span improving education, health, welfare and infrastructural development, evidenced in the ongoing construction of classroom blocks in five of the seven Local Government Areas (LGAs) that make up the districts, provision of water in Mbatim community, Gwer East, Aumazwa in Gboko, Achusah in Makurdi, Wurukum Market. He named other locations such as Mechanic village Gboko, Katungu North Bank Makurdi and Ushakaa Clinic, Makurdi as also enjoying water from boreholes facilitated by the Senator.

No fewer than 300 women of the districts on the 2nd January, 2025, received empowerment items ranging from hair dryers, sewing machines and grinding engines, to enhance capacity building and financial independence of the women, Mr. Nunde says. He explained that the exercise was the third in series of accounts of his Principals stewardship in office through democratic dividends.

According to Mr. Nunde, through the National Primary Health Care Agency, Sen Zam carried out the first phase of mobile medical outreach in Gwer-Wesy, with 28 procedures for hernia, hydroceles, lipomas, administration of drugs for respiratory tract infections, Diabetes, Urinary tract infections, Malaria, Diarrhea among other cases presented.

“Within the months under review he (Sen Zam) has facilitated appointments into Federal Fire Service, National Assembly Trust Fund, National Assembly Commission for eight persons in his district. He has sponsored a Bill for an Act to establish the Vocational and Technical School Naka and aided a programme on skill acquisition training in Gboko under the agency of National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), where participants were given cash support.

“In his desire to give succour and hope to people with special needs, the lawmaker distributed food items to people with special needs on 29th December, 2024, across the seven Local Governments that constitute the Benue North West Senatorial District,” says Mr. Nunde.

While insisting that more is on the way, Mr. Nunde says work is ongoing on the construction of Chief Afatyo Ajoko Street in Buruku LGA and Jerome Torshimbe Street in Naka, Gwer West LGA.
