“The second club I’ll be supporting in Europe is Sevilla. Congratulations, Akor,” James Atsa’am writes on his Facebook account.
Sevilla had earlier announced: “Sevilla FC and French side Montpellier HSC have agreed to sign Akor Jerome Adams to the red-and-white team.”
“Born in Nigeria, specifically in Benue State, on 29 January 2000, Adams, who has signed until 2029 and will wear the number 15 jersey vacated by Gonzalo Montiel, plays as a centre forward, is 190 centimetres tall and has arrived in the Andalusian capital after having played 15 games for the French squad this 2024/25 season.
“In these matches, he has scored three goals and provided another trio of assists.”
The deal is worth €5.5m, and James’ reaction, like many others [reaction], is coming after the forward signed the dotted lines.
Another Facebook user, Pever Victor writes: “From Benue State to Sevilla. Congratulations Akor Adams!?
By virtue of the deal, Adams becomes the third Nigerian player at Sevilla, joining Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho.
Adams has been Montpellier’s go-to Number 9 since joining the club in the summer of 2023. Since arriving from Norway, he has scored 13 goals in 49 games. However, Sevilla has now acquired his services.
The Nigerian has scored three goals and registered three assists for La Paillade this season, but the club is currently bottom of Ligue 1.
