Date:

At the March 2025 Seminar series of the Faculty of Arts, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Dr. Wilfred Uji, Professor of Social and Economic History, will be presenting on the topic, “United States and Africa since the era of Ronald Reagan.”

Prof. Halima I. Amali, Chairman, Faculty Seminar Committee, says in a statement that the seminar will hold on Thursday, 6th March, 2025, in the Faculty of Arts Boardroom, FULafia, with Dr. Joseph Igono as the discussant.

In 2022, Prof Uji made presentation of his professorial chair inaugural, less than one month from his appointment, marking a record presentation in the history of inaugural lectures in Nigeria. He presented on the subject, Migration, Social and Economic Development in Historical Trajectory.

On Thursday this week, the Benue born academic will attempt to resolve the fundamental question of global changes occasioned by United States imperialism and how it has reshaped the African continent.

TNT understands that historically, the Berlin Conference of 1886 marked the imperial creation of modern Africa, and Prof Uji reckons this has continued to define and shape the history and the future of the continent.
