The Tiv Area Traditional Council (TATC), has fixed 12th March, 2025, as date for the selection of successor to the Tor Sankera stool.
Tor Sankera stool became vacant in January last year, following the demise of the pioneer occupier of the office, His Majesty Abu King Shuluwa. Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, had indicated at the first year memorial of the monarch that time was ripe to select his successor,
Mr. Shinyi Tyozua, Secretary to TATC, who disclosed the date for the selection exercise indicates that the 12th March exercise shall take place at the Katsina-Ala Local Government Secretariat at 10:00am.
All aspirants for the stool are advised to come along with original copies and photocopies of their credentials including indigeneship certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age and senior school certificate or it’s equivalent for presentation to the screening committee, the statement by Mr. Shinyi notes.
Meanwhile, members of the selection committee including Second-Class Traditional Rulers, Third -Class Traditional Rulers and District Heads from Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo Local Government Areas (LGAs) are advised to be punctual at the venue of the exercise.
