Mr. Atom Lim, owner of Mango World Makurdi and one of the senior aides of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has asserted that the private sector can change Benue State (for the better) and not the government.
He spoke at the opening of Cardiff Resort, located on 14/15 John Eymonye Street, off Atom Kpera Road, Hudco Quarters, Makurdi, the state capital.
Mr. Lim, a key player in the state’s hospitality industry, also discussed the need for private-sector partnerships.
“For too long, too many of our people have been led to believe that you have to depend on government for everything.
“(But now) I am seeing this transformation that is happening, with the private sector coming in to invest here in all the sectors of the economy,” Mr. Lim said, concluding that “hospitality is a huge, huge sector.”
Mr. Lim called for collaboration, saying, “Even within the private sector, collaboration is the way forward.”
