2024 National Chess Champion, youngest in Nigeria’s history

Date:

17-year-old Terseer Nyuma Ferdinand has made history as the youngest Nigerian to have emerged as National chess champion in the country.

Tunde Onakoya, in a post on X, formerly Twitter, says Ferdinand “defeats 9 chess masters to become the National Chess Champion 2024—the youngest in Nigerian chess history.”

“He is one of the most talented chess players I’ve ever seen and has the potential to become a grandmaster.

“Congratulations Ferdinand,” the tweet concludes.

Sharing the news on his Facebook account, Ukan Kurugh, a social media influencer, wrote: “Let’s give this incredible achievement the recognition it deserves—let’s make this news trend!”
