Do not listen to naysayers and malicious critics; Fidelity Bank Manager in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, Mr Terwase Swande, has charged the Convener of Kyegh Sha Shwa (KSS), Very Rev Fr Solomon Ukeyima.
KSS is an annual cultural festival that aims to foster community spirit and cultural pride. It was founded in 2015 by the Catholic priest alias Tor KSS, with previous editions held in Daudu, Gboko, and Makurdi.
Mr. Swande, while reacting to a particular picture wherein Fr. Ukeyima appeared with the Governor of Benue State, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, as they marched into the venue of the 2024 KSS celebration, said the picture “has so many meanings.
“It is good that you are at the forefront of projecting the Tiv culture. I am happy you are rushing slowly but steadily making progress,” noting that “KSS is a real platform for the unity of the Tiv people, and it is surpassing expectations!”
Then he adds: “Two priests. Two leaders. Two fathers. One leading the State and the other leading a cultural revolution.”
Commenting on the 2024 KSS festival, Mr. Swande said: “The flamboyance. The resplendence. The majestic beauty of Tiv women. The exotic pictures. The sumptuous food. The delicious Tiv cuisine. The joy of meeting people and the long-time-no-see moments. The gubernatorial dance by Rev Fr Alia….”
Prof Shima Gyoh presented a paper on this year’s KSS theme: “Kper u Tiv ngu hana?”
