Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, on Saturday, 8th February 2025, presented the Benue Seal, also known as Symbol, to a cheering audience at Nnam Hotel Hall Makurdi, the state capital.
Top government functionaries and other Very Important Persons (VIPs) attended the event.
The Benue State Symbols Screening Committee had subjected the decision for a Benue symbol to a public vote. A second voting exercise was conducted before the final decision.
Three symbols made it to voting by the Benue public.
Fr. Alia says the seal represents the people’s collective vision for a brighter future.
Ukan Kurugh, renowned Benue humanitarian, says he is “proud to be part of the process of the selection of Benue State Symbol.”
